It's 6:17 am, Friday, November 15th. The year is 2024. You’re in bed, half asleep. The lights and music came on 13 minutes early because you didn't do laundry last night. Luckily, one of your dirty shirts knows it will make it through the day if you toss it in the dryer with a fabric softener sheet and damp washcloth while you shower. You close your eyes tight and roll over, but your latte machine buzzes in to let you know that if you don't get up now, your coffee will be released to go down the drain. You have no choice. Your connected world is conspiring to get you out of bed and off to work.
